Hey, I'm not sure if this is a common problem which will hopefully be fixed with a BIOS update (though I couldn't see anyone else with the same issue from doing a google search), or if I have a faulty motherboard.

Msi Z270 Pro Gaming Carbon Mobo

i5 7600K CPU

HyperX Fury 16GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM

Basically, my new build won't post with both RAM sticks in (in the advised slots 2+4, nor in 1+3). I've tried both sticks individually and it posts without issue. I've updated the BIOS, reset CMOS and yet still it won't post with the RAM in those slots. The computer turns on but no image will go to the monitor and the debug LED flashes between DRAM and CPU. If anyone has seen anyone else experiencing this or knows if it's a fault with the motherboard, please let me know!

Thanks for the reply, not sure how to quote you so I hope you see it. I tried 1,3 + 4 with singular sticks of RAM and only 1 worked (as well as 2 always working from before). Because 1 worked I then tried 1 + 2 which also worked and for the first time it posted with both sticks of RAM in. However obviously 1+2 in combination is sub-optimal but it does make me curious as to why neither 3 nor 4 work.

I fear you may have bent pins in your CPU socket. It's a classic symptom. If both sticks of RAM work but two sockets dont it could mean that. Each time you change RAM slots you may need to clear CMOS, so you could try that, but ideally you're going to need to check for bent pins. You could wing it and use 1+2 in single channel, but it isnt really a fix and could get worse if you do have damaged pins.

Hi, I've checked for bent pins and couldn't find any, I've taken a picture but the quality isn't great but still couldn't find any still. http://imgur.com/a/wUntU

In the Motherboard troubleshooting section it says: if no signal to the motherboard; one of the options is remove all memory and try only in the second slot. Which is what I can do get it to work but it doesn't say what to do or how to fix it after that.

I do believe that specific one looks like that due to angle/lighting/shadow, a few on the other side edge look similar but I'm fairly sure it's just shadow

I`m using a MSI M270 Gaming M7 + i7 7700k + 2x 8Gb ddr4 3000mHz RAM and they only works in slots 1+2 too, if i put then on 1+3 or 2+4 the pc turns on but doesn`t boot

I can`t either put more 2 slots of RAM because with 4x RAM the pc doesn`t boot too.

anyone found a solution??

Bump I have the same problem, I get signal and image to my screen only when I have my ram in slot A1 and A2 a.k.a the first 2 slots next to the CPU.
I've tried to update BIOS but that doesn't help either.
