problem with psu in new haswell rig

Hello! I have recently hooked up my haswell build but now i am facing some problems. My configuration is:-
Intel core i7 4770
24GB (3 * 8GB) 1600MHz corsair ram
asrock z87 pro4 mobo
320 gigs of samsung sata 3 hdd

But i went for a 400W psu from a local company.
As soon as i hooked up the rig i used to face a problem that it sounded it hmmm... when i started the pc. Then after a month or so my pc just refused to start. When i opened my cabby and tried starting it again and again sparks came out of my psu.

It is obvious that something might be wrong with the psu but how to be sure if my rest of hardware is ok? I can not get another psu to test the rest of the hardware so is there some other way?...

Without putting components into another system, or replacing the PSU, there isn't an easy way to tell if the PSU has taken something with it.

i7s and 24GB of ram doesn't come cheap, so you are definitely better to invest in a quality PSU from a reliable brand. Additionally, Haswell has some slightly unique demands on a power supply (at supplying low voltages rather than higher ones) so checking to see if a PSU is Haswell certified is definitely worth the hassle.
While in theory it is solely an efficiency standard, it's also worth looking out for the 80Plus system, as it does ensure a decent level of quality in the components. These days any PSU, even a crappy one, should be 80Plus compliant, and any that you'd actually want to buy is likely to be 80Plus Bronze or better.
