Problem with RAM slots.

A while back my pc stopped booting (black screen after starting) and I figured I have a hardware problem, It started booting again after I removed one ram stick. Figured the ram stick somehow died, I'm not very good with hardware...

Now after a year, when booting I get a black screen. After doing a lot of cleaning and tinkering, the pc started after switching to a new ram stick. The very next day I am met with a black screen after booting, switched my ram from slot A1 to A2 and now It works again.

Temperatures are OK,
I have no idea how to diagnose my problem.
Thank you!

Solution
If as your post seems to indicate you have been mixing RAM modules from differing kits then that is your problem. Never a good idea to mix modules even of the same spec.
test all your sticks of ram, and all the ram slots. see which one works. these problems are really random and this is probably as much help as i can give you.
also, it may be worth to reset your bios setting. see what that will do for you

Run Memtest86 from a USB on all RAM Modules and if errors are found then RMA the whole kit.
I believe Crucial offer cross shipping so you can still use what works. You should also be able to determine if you have a dead DIMM slot on the MB by switching a known working module.

Ran the memtest, no errors. Tried other slots with the new ram, suddenly all work.
Tried a (broken?) ram stick together with new ram, black screen no bios.
Tried using only the broken one, same outcome.
After switching to new ram only,
windows started automatic repair but was unable to find a problem. Reboot and everything works. I am at a loss.
