Question Problem with ram speed

Hi, I'm posting this on behalf of my friend.

All you need to know about his specs is
Ryzen 7 5800x, MSI X570 A PRO.

The first set of RAM he had was Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3200mhz, it only could run on 2666mhz and anything past this the pc wouldnt boot.
We've read that this motherboard has very specific ram compatibilty so he bought a set of Kingston Fury 2x16GB 3200mhz which are listed as compatible, still you cant boot with anything other 2666mhz, ive tried everything to help him but right now Im lost haha.

Any ideas guys? If I missed any important info please let me know.

First couple of things to try / check,

Memory is placed in 2nd and 4th slot from cpu, not 1st / 3rd. 2nd and 4th slot are the primaries, xmp won't work with the other two slots populated if there's only two sticks.


Bios updated to latest to address any possible memory issues.

How is RAM frequency set ? Using XMP setting in BIOS ?
