Today I bought an Xbox Series S and connected it via HDMI to my Samsung G5 monitor. Everything works I enabled 1440p and 120Hz but the problem is that there’s no audio, and I suspect the G5 is the reason.

I have my Turtle Beach headphones connected to the console via USB, and they work perfectly on YouTube, Discord, and system sounds on the Xbox. However, the issue starts when I launch Warzone. Initially, I can hear the game’s intro music, but as soon as it transitions to the main menu, the sound completely cuts out. The game is entirely muted no audio at all though I can still hear my friends talking on Discord in the background.

I’m losing my mind trying to figure out why I have no audio in Warzone specifically.

I’m certain the issue is with the G5 monitor. I’ve tried everything I reset the Xbox, reinstalled the game, did a factory reset, adjusted all the audio settings, enabled pass-through, forced audio to the headphones by disabling the “Send audio via HDMI” option nothing works. I even searched Reddit, but I couldn’t find a solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

update firmware of your headset and xbox controller
My headset is a USB wireless model—no cables connected to the controller. I just plug the USB dongle into the Xbox, and it acts as an antenna for the wireless headphones.

My controller is a wired Razer Wolverine V2.

Now, the audio issue is fixed, but something really weird happened. I woke up this morning and found myself logged out of Call of Duty—no idea why. I had to create a new account, and suddenly, everything started working with the new account.

The strange part is that I was also logged out of my Xbox, almost as if my Xbox account had never been linked to an Activision account. Now that I’ve created a new one, everything was overwritten. Like… WTF? At least I have audio now!
