So i upgraded my PSU to SS FPP 750W and the cables are just too bulky. On top of that, the PCI-E cables for my GPU are 8+8 pin (8pin+ 8 pin added through) so my build looks like a mess now. I barely even managed to close my side panel of the case since the cables are too fat. Anyways, Seasonic says that you can't use any other cables with their PSU, that it will result in unit malfunctioning. My question is, does that also apply for cable extenders? Can i add some pet sleeved extenders to Seasonic PCI-E cables, would it work?

Thanks.

Can you point out the exact line where Seasonic states that you can't use any other cables with their PSU?

Since all 3x of my PCs: Skylake, Haswell and AMD have Seasonic PSUs and i also have CableMod custom sleeved power cables, which i bought to replace the stock power cables on all 3x of my PCs.

Proof too, click on spoiler to view:

What is SS FPP 750W?

Seasonic Focus Plus Platinum, if I had to guess.

The SATA and Molex are, 24 pin, EPS, and PCIe are round.

Strange... Figured all but the main power would be flat... HMMM.

Yes it is Foucs Plus Platinum 750W....

As for where i found the info... On Amazon.com ... And yes it was my mistake to say it is info by Seasonic...
And cables are not flat at all, they are fat as hell, as i said i barely managed to close my S340 side panel... The freaking 24pin cable is like 2cm in diameter.

Check "important information" here...
Basically what i'm worried about is that if you use any other cables you don't know which side is PSU side and which side is device side... So that being said, extenders should be ok...

This power supply is only compatible with cables provided by Seasonic. Any other cables not approved by Seasonic will result in item malfunction.
Before i ordered my CableMod SE-series power cables, i contacted Seasonic directly via their support e-mail and asked if CableMod SE-series are compatible and safe to use with Seasonic PSUs. Seasonic customer support representative replied this to me:
You can use sleeved cables made by our partner Cablemod. They are good quality and made according the specifications of our own cables.
So, i went and bought CableMod cables to replace stock power cables and to get additional eyecandy as well.

To tell a difference between PSU side and MoBo/GPU side connectors, for CableMod cables, it's the same way as with stock power cables since both have same connectors on each end. Added another pic of my cables, look under the spoiler:

If you go with CableMod basic or full cable kit, you need to pick the SE-series since those are compatible with Seasonic PSUs. Other series are for other brand PSUs, e.g C-series (Corsair), E-series (EVGA). I gave the SE-series link in my 1st reply.

Of course, you can go with cable extensions as well but do get good quality ones. CableMod also offers cable extensions. Here, there are no compatibility issues since cable extensions are universally compatible with all PSUs,

Here, you'd have 3x options:
* 1st option would be cable extensions. These would be the cheapest option but it would increase the cable amount in your PC and cable extensions also increase the PSU ripple.
* 2nd option, and perhaps the best for you, would be buying SE-series basic cable kit. In basic cable kit, there's only 4x cables included: 24-pin ATX, 4/8-pin EPS12V and 2x 6/8-pin PCI-E. With them, you can replace the stock bulky cables in your PC, considerably increasing the ease of cable management,

* 3rd option would be buying SE-series full cable kit (i bought these). In them, you have loads of cables, including SATA and molex as well,
e.g red colored: https://cablemod.com/product/cablemod-se-series-xp2-km3-cable-kit-red/

I take that you didn't notice my 1st reply in this topic, why else you'd say the same thing with far less detail than i said it.
