My ssd is not showing up in my bios. It also doesn’t show up in device management/manager. It is a Samsung 960 evo m.2 and my motherboard is a msi b150 pc mate. I’ve tried updating/resetting my bios. Please help

Solution

You bought the wrong drive.

That board only takes a SATA based m.2 drive in that slot.
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B150-PC-MATE/Specification
" 1 x M.2 Key M Socket supports type 2280/2260/2242 storage devices in SATA mode*"

The 960 EVO is an NVMe based drive.

Send it back to the store.
It will never, ever work on that motherboard.

Solution

You need a SATA based drive.
Either 2.5" SATA III, or m.2 SATA.

All at the 500GB size, for straight comparison.

2.5" SATA III:
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB - $165

Samsung 860 EVO - $150

Crucial MX500 - $130

M.2
Samsung 850 EVO - $160

Samsung 860 EVO - $170

WD Blue - $130

Performance is roughly the same for ALL of those drives.
