Question Problem with USB connections to Apple products

Hi, I'm a new guy on TH, and I am not sure if this is the right place for this, but I have a problem which is causing me to tear my hair out:

I have recently developed a problem on my Computer - It suddenly stopped recognising Apple kit when I plugged it in via USB

Now when I connect My iPhone 15 Plus, My Wife's iPhone 15 Plus, My iPad and my wife's iPad it no longer connects.

The items show that they are charging but iTunes does not start up, I get not "what do you want to do with the item you have connected" notification;

Checking File Explorer does not show the items in the list of discs/equipment

Checking Device Manager shows no connection to the item just plugged in under Universal Series Bus controllers

All of the Apple Devices have the latest Updates

I have tried the following with no success:

  1. Power Down & Restart the computer and the Apple devices
  2. Updated the drivers to the latest versions
  3. Tried multiple cables
  4. Tried multiple USB ports on the front of the case AND on the back of the case
  5. No other issues with USB connections (mouse/keyboard/etc.)
  6. Successfully connected my Olympus Camera (which the computer can see and download pictures from)
  7. Uninstalled and Reinstalled iTunes
So it appears that the problem is only related to Apple Products and seem to be at a fundamental level (as shown by the devices not showing in Device Manager)

I have searched the internet and they only suggest trying 1-4

I posted this question on Reddit but received no replies so I was hoping this forum might help

I would appreciate any assistance you can offer

Thanks

In Device Manager > View ensure that "Show hidden devices" is checked.

Any related error codes in Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer?
Hi - thanks for trying to assist

Show Hidden Devices shows nothing extra on the USB section (both with and without Apple device plugged in)

Reliability Monitor only shows Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) error:

But I'm pretty sure that is not relevant to my problem

Nothing of relevance on Event Viewer

WIA ....

Just as a matter of elimination run "dism" and "sfc /scannow" on your computer.

Re: svchost.exe may have some problem.

Or maybe WIA gets fixed.

= = = =

Then google "Windows WIA and Apple devices compatibility" and filter the search to the last year or so.

Lots of links and lots of information.

Take a look at a few of the links - no need to immediately do anything. Especially do not be tempted into downloading some app or utility puporting to "fix the problem".

Objective simply being to get a larger sense of what all is involved and perhaps help you identify some other relevant factors.

i did find this recent link interesting:

At least a possible start.
