hi,
recently I bought WD 10EZEX 1TB blue HDD for increment in storage. 1st time the HDD run properly without any issue. When i formatted it (using windows 10) in NTFS format for windows installation every thing is working fine but after restarting the PC for installing windows, I started facing some problem with WD HDD.

1.) unable to install windows, whenever i tried to install windows it get stuck after windows logo disappears during boot... I wait for long to check that may be it take some time to start windows installation but nothing happened, black screen goes on.( tried using windows 8.1 pro CD/USB and windows 7 home basis CD/USB, even tried installing Ubuntu)

2.) I checked my bios, it shows my HDD got detected and of capacity 1000.2GB,
but doesn't work during OS boot or with other HDD (windows installed). I tried using different SATA3 / SATA2 cables, tried different SATA3/SATA2 ports, even tried changing different SATA power cables/ports too... but faced same problem again and again.

3.) I tried to format the disk using with other HDD 2nd time (using windows 10) but it does not let the OS start. windows get stuck on the windows logo and do not run further. HDD with the OS is working properly as I used it daily but when I connect it with WD HDD it got stuck every-time same place.

4.) I tried to touch the HDD physically to check the running vibration and found it's working.

PLEASE tell me how to use my WD HDD

my computer specs:
processor: i3-2120 @3.30GHz
RAM: 4GB
GPU:ASUS Radeon HD 6670 1GB GDDR5
OS: WINDOWS 10 PRO
Motherboard: GIGABYTE B75M-D3H

Hey there again, z3r0_co0L!

Unfortunately, it seems like your WD Blue HDD has failed. 🙁 I just hope you don't have any important data on it, that would require you to use costly professional data recovery services. If you do, you can refer to WD's Data Recovery partners worldwide here: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=6iZbyk

Either way, I'd suggest to check the warranty on your WD10EZEX here: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=TcQ3Tf
If it's still covered, you should definitely contact our customer support and send an RMA request in order to get a replacement from us.

Welcome to the community, z3r0_co0L!

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the WD Blue drive! 🙁 You definitely did a good job with the troubleshooting so far! It seems like there might be something wrong with the HDD and it could be defective. The best way to determine if that's the case, is to test the hard drive using WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. Since the system hangs whenever you connect the WD Blue as a secondary drive, it might be best to troubleshoot it using the DOS version of the software. You can find it on our website once you select the WD product here: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=9wjQJY
This utility will help us determine the health and SMART status of the drive, just make sure you follow the instructions below the download link of the software.

Keep me posted. Hope this helps.

Another thought; if it passes the SMART tests; a Core i3 should have modern UEFI, not older BIOS; and Windows 10 stores info about hardware and OS in the UEFI (which is how they are moving away from using activation keys) So it's possible that there's a security setting that's been triggered in the low level system ('Secure Boot' being a big suspect, so if you're using a not-legal build of windows 10, or a lesser-known build of linux, that could be why too) where the new hard disk drive and/or its partitioning is sending up some kind of security flag. You wouldn't, by chance, be rocking an old CRT tube-style monitor would you? In that case, or some of the older flat panels, the screen visual indicating such an error might not be visible before it reboots because those old screens take two-five seconds to come on, so you might miss any message saying hard drive failure detected or no boot drive found. Listen for any beep codes as well.

Otherwise yes, excellent job on ruling out all the usual suspects.

I tried data lifeguard diagnostic tool as you suggested but didn't worked for me 🙁

1.) I run the quick test, it does not shows any process is going on except "Hit ATL+X to cancel" so I left it as it is thought that may be the process is running, after some time it shows me an error message "error code: 0108" . I checked for the error code and it says "run test again and if it shows same error again replace the drive". So, I again run the test, This time it run for 2 to 3 hours but nothings happen. So, I restarted the PC and found that it is not showing my WD HDD. I plugged the cables again in HDD after that it started showing my HDD.

2.) Now this time I tried to format all the disk "write zeros to drive". the process started and after 40mins it shows some progress but after few minutes it shows the error message "error code 0112". I checked for the error codes and again run the format, this time I left my PC on. the process started but didn't showed any sign of progress. After a long time(approx 7-8 hours), when there is no sign of progress, I restarted PC and checked for my HDD and same thing happened, NO HDD was detected.

So I found that after the process started or after some time, it does not find my HDD or doesn't detect my HDD. 🙁

Any other solution, (if any)
and Thanks a lot for your time and suggestion.

It doesn't passes the test.
I have original CD of win 7 and then updated to win 10, and I updated the BIOS too. and NO m not using CRT monitor.
anyways.. thanks for your suggestion.
