Hello, I recently bought the first few parts for my first gaming pc. I however don't have the cpu and ram yet because I'm broke right now I decided to try putting my gtx 970 in a 10 year old (or so) windows vista 32 bit desktop. Fitting it in was quit an adventure but eventually I made it fit. I used my new powersupply to power the gpu because the stock psu is only 230w. I connected the green and black wire from the 24pin connector for the psu to work. Here comes the problem. The pc booted right up and seemed fine. I went to the nvidea website to dowload the drivers wich I then installed. However when I go to device manager it detects the card but won't use it and states it doesnt have the correct drivers. I then also installed the drivers in two other ways (multiple times) via the device manager. ''Select the nvidea driver and make it install'' and ''right tap the nvidea driver installer and tap open, install the right filles and then install these via the device manager''. still no results. When I open msi afterburner it doesnt even detect the card. What I don't get either that the monitor is connected to the gpu wich is not working but the monitor still works (as in display the screen). So somehow it sends the display from the intergrated through the gpu to the monitor wich doesnt make sence either. If the gpu doesnt work correctly I would think I just wouldnt have a display unless I plug the monitor into the motherboard. None of this makes sence to me and I'm getting a bit frustrated, I would really appreciate some help. Thanks!
