problems in fax intallation in xp

i try to install the fax
using the way
start->settings->control panel -> addremove programs -> add remove windows
component...

but appears amessage with an error "0x2" in line 2088999411 ...

and the procedure stops....

can i install the fax directly from the windows cd???

You need to go through the 'Add Remove Programs' to install fax and you must
have the CD to complete the installation.
Can you see any other error in Event Viewer(Start -> Run -> eventvwr). And
also please give us the Windows OS version.
