Problems installing Windows 7

Hi all, I'm having trouble installing Windows 7 on my newly built desktop. I made a USB using the official downloadable ISO and injected USB 3.0 and NVMe drivers. It works like a charm on my laptop but on my desktop I run into the dreaded "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" error. And yes, I have tried removing the thumb drive during the welcome screen and moving it in all of my 8 available ports, no go.

I'm using an Asus Z270I motherboard and have tried every permutation of the USB configuration settings in the BIOS, any suggestions?
 
It works fine when I try to install it on my laptop, it's only on my desktop that I get the error. I don't think redoing the USB drive will solve anything. I might attempt it through a DVD drive but that means acquiring one first...
 
the issue is windows 7 chipset drivers support eneded for the newer chipset that are out. intel chipset drivers now only support windows 10. if you can injecy the inf of the chipset drivers into your image it may work. if you have no funds for windows 10 or want to see if it works...install windows 10 without a key code to see if it boot fines.
 
I have an i5-6600k and my motherboard supports Windows 7. I'm just not sure which drivers are causing the issue. Could also be that the USB drive had Intel USB 3.0 controller drivers injected and my motherboard uses ASMedia...
