Motherboard: Asus TUF X670E Plus WiFi

When I click all the prompts to update the bios with EZFlash it initially will shutdown and attempt to restart, but then gets stuck on an infinite yellow light (DRAM I believe). I then have to clear the CMOS to even get it to POST again. Sometimes the board will get hung up on a red light (CPU I believe). What am I doing wrong?

I’ve tried:
  • using only 1 stick of ram,
  • buying a new usb drive,
  • enabling memory context restore.

Nothing is working. I’m trying to update to bios version 3067. Is my board bad?

I read that Yellow/Red Dram/Cpu errors on AM5 mainboards can be often traced back to a slight bent in the mainboard making the cpu lose contact to a few pins. Do you have a huge cpu cooler? Try remounting it(Which you should anyway if you haven`t checked for any bent pins on the board because checking the pins is the first thing you should do) or reducing the mounting pressure of the cooler on the cpu just a tiny bit with one or just a half rotation of the mounting screws. See if that fixes your problem. Otherwise you can also buy a Cpu bracket to give it some extra support to straigthen out the board. If all that doesn`t work your motherboard either shorts somehow out (check how it is seated in your case) or the motherboard is bad.
