Problems with ATI AIW Radeon 8500 128mb and quake3

Ok,
i have a ATI all-in-wonder 8500 128MB vid card and i cant play any of my favorite games any more. Quake3, Max Payne, UT2003, and GTA3 all are soo distorted that the game is unpalyable. You cant tell a rail gun from a hooker.

I've played Max Payne, various half life mods, Battlefield 1942, various game demos and have never had one problem with my radeon8500

i can play half life, it's just all rest of the games that are all distorted. a friend of mine says that it's a problem with opengl and the all-in-wonder 8500.
