Problems with daisy chain configuration

So, I started a new job on Thursday, my office had one device hard wired into an ASUS RT-N66U. The system that was in there needed to stay, but I had two new devices to connect in the room as well, so I attempted to daisy chain my RT-N66U to the existing one. On mine I of course disabled DHCP, and on theirs I also changed the setting to start assigning IP addresses starting with 192.168.2.100. Their internet connection was fine before I got there, and now drops constantly... Every time that it drops, the only solution is to go out and unplug the routers for a bit, and it will work fine for a while until again I lose all WAN connectivity. So, as I both need a computer and need this setup to work, AND I don't want to get kicked out of the new place for jacking up their business, does anyone know what might be causing my issue? Any imput would be amazing and appreciated!

First, make sure that you aren't violating any business directives or policies for having a personal access point. Most businesses frown on those type things.

It isn't clear from your description, but I am assuming you are connecting via wire from the main router to the secondary. Asus has a very good access point mode in the firmware. Set a static IP address on "your" N66U then toggle the mode to access point. Ensure that the two routers are set to specific different channels. Ensure that the 2.4 and 5Ghz SSIDs are all unique.

I'd fire you for not asking before screwing my network. That said, did you insure that your wireless channel is on a non-overlapping channel?

And I assume that you gave your RT-N66U a static address below 192.168.2.100, and that their unit is not just an AP for another router, or a subnet.

Why do you need a second wireless radio, a small (4 or 5 port) switch would not require messing with their network at all (helping to insure your job security)?
