Merry Christmas all

So for Christmas, I've finally bought my own PC. I need to connect it to the Ethernet through a booster. I have all the wires plugged in and the booster is working, so are the wires. It works on my PS4, however, I can't seem to get a connection on my PC, I can only get a WIFI connection which is very weak and not very good for gaming. I'm using windows 8.1.

Thanks,

There's an Ethernet port on the back so I assumed there was Ethernet, sorry if it's an obvious mistake but I'm new to all this.

Not an option I'm afraid. However there has been an update. I downloaded a new driver and it worked fine for a short while, but it went wrong. The Ethernet option now reads "Unidentified Network" and "limited".
