Question Problems with Fallout 4

I have a mod called 'DEF_UI' that enables me to customize my HUD settings in Fallout 4...I haven't used it in a while, but when I used it yesterday I found that I couldn't save my settings in XML. If anyone knows about such things I would appreciate any help you might be able to give. Thanks in advance!

Ok, I read the main post and followed the instructions there...now I have a big white banner with 1" tall red letters on my screen that reads: "Make config XML with config app please run HudMenuSet,exe from Data interface folder" ...which is what I've been doing, and doesn't work.

I have a sinking feeling that I'm going to have to uninstall all my mods and reinstall Fallout 4. :.(
