Problems with Internet in CS:GO

Hello,
Please help me.
My problem tends to consist of a high ping spike every few minutes while in game. I have made tons of changes to my computer, and even reverted these, but for some odd reason I've had horrible ping. I actually used to have amazing ping (~20).
So, my question is, what would be a viable solution to my problem. I currently operate through WiFi, simply because I cannot use an Ethernet connection. I have seen many solutions, such as wireless adapters, repeaters, and multiple other things. Would getting a new router help as well? I'm not the most experienced in this, but any answers of any kind would be more than appreciated.

Are you using a stand-alone router or a router built in to a modem? Since you are connected wirelessly; you may consider changing your wireless control channel to either 6, 9 or 11. Anyway, ~20ms ping result is quite normal as far as how it goes.

I'm actually using a Comcast provided router, which is a standalone. I haven't yet, but I will try that, thank you! Praying for the 20 ping days to come back.
