Problems with my Gaming PC

Hi,

So I've plugged all my parts into the right areas and tried turning it on, but it doesn't even move or make a sound. I'm not sure everything is compatible or in working order?

My Parts:

motherboard: MSI Z87-G43
CPU: intel i5 haswell 4670K 1150 processor
GFX Card: Gigabyte Geforce GTX650Ti
PSU: Corsair CX750M
CPU Fan: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO
Drive: LG 24x Optical Drive
HDD: 2TB Western Digital Caviar Green
Case: NZXT 410 Phantom Full Case

Everything looks ok at a glance. When you hit the power button on the PC does the PSU attempt to spin up for half a sec then shut back down? (check the PSU fan). If it does then it's a bigger issue. If the PSU doesn't even attempt to power up then it's probably a bad PSU, you didn't plug the power button pins in the right spot on the MB, or you forgot to turn the PSU switch to ON

I checked the PSU and everything is in the right pin slot, when i press the power button on the case or even try shorting the pins to make it work it doesn't even move. I'm thinking its the PSU and I might have to get a new one?

or claim to the ebay seller it was DOA

check that the power cable TO the PSU from the wall is in firmly. you sure the switch is on? (made that sily mistake 100s of times)

If everything is plugged in right and switched on, then it does sound like a PSU fault. If it's something with the computer then the PSU will attempt to kick on for a split second before the computer tells it to shut down, this is why you'll see the PSU fans and any case fans plugged directly into the PSU spin for a rotation or so when you hit the power button.

Edit: And I'm assuming by jumping the PSU you're talking about connecting the green wire and a black ground wire on the 24pin ATX connector and attempting to power up the PSU without it plugged into anything on your computer?

everything plugged in but getting a screwdriver and shorting the two power pins, it worked before

you know, one time it turned out my wall outlet in a room i barely use wasn't providing any power to my devices and I wasn't aware of it, can you confirm there is even power coming from your wall? (its a stupid question but it can be a possibility).

sorry i meant firm into the PSU.

you may what to consider taking out of the case and breadboarding the build to see if its shorting anywhere in the case.

ill check the wall to see if its that, and try in other rooms

Its defiantly not the power coming from the wall, just checked 4 rooms. It must be the PSU

If you can't power up the PSU by jumping the green and black wires then hitting the switch then it's the PSU.
