Question Problems with RAM on ASUS M4A89GTD/USB3 PRO board ?

hi,i have above motherboard.have 8gb ram total 4 x 2gb
the total the motherboard will support is 16gb,so i bought four 4gb ram cards(or whatever they are called)
putthem in,and the pc wouldnt boot,monitor not comming on.
i took ram out and realised there is 3 blue slots and one black slot.
if i put 3 of the rams into the blue slots which is 12gb total the pc boots,but if i put the other back in to the black slot the pc wont boot.
what is the prob?

Worst case is you reset your BIOS and start all over. Be brave! You've got this.

tried other ram,didnt work,now wont work again with my old ram,done CMOS thing twice

Be sure to double check everything being seated properly...again.

I can imagine. Take a deep breath and exhale.

You sorted once before, should be fine.

Or, you can upgrade to a modern rig and be done with all these headaches. 'Tis the season.

done cmos again there still not booting

Unless you had a static discharge and zapped the system, you likely missed a step somewhere.

Start with the basics, remove all but one memory stick. Reset the BIOS as previously discussed and try again.

Take all but one out and then try the reset.

i have done that before earlier this evening.
done another cmos reset there,took out battery for 2 hours,same story at end

tried one again there,tried 2 nothing!!!!
mouse not lighting up underneath,but thats normal when not booting,yeah?

I'm sorry for your hassles. When you press the power button, does anything happen. LEDs, fans spin, anything?

yes fans spinning,the red tiny light beside ram is flashing,which it wouldnt if all was ok

Just too verify, is all of your memory the exact same make/model/revision? Do they all match 100%?

Unless something got shorted during the process of all of your troubleshooting (which is indeed possible), the previous actions should reset the motherboard and get you up and (limping) running. I am out of fresh ideas.
