Current machine is 8 years old - won't run W11. Designing a new one. Currently using Samsung EVO drives - never had a problem.
Want to go to a 990 PRO PCIe® 4.0 NVMe® SSD 2TB" Have seen many discussions about problems with these drives. Have they been fixed??? - Thanks for your input - Marty

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

I'm currently using a 2TB version of the 990 Pro, no issues whatsoever. If you're referring to the issues from years past, that was resolved if you updated the firmware upon dropping it into your system. Unless you're referring to another issue, I'm unaware of. A link would help guide me/us to the concern you have.

Moved thread from Memory section to Storage section.

990pro had firmware issues in the beginning where drive health would incorrectly report as declining within days or weeks of use. That was a particular batch though. Has long been fixed through firmware update. I bought 990pro when it was released in late 2022 and when the issue was raised in early 2023 i checked drive health and was still at 100%. I updated firmware anyway. All drives sold now will have the updated firmware.

The problems I was referring to were the ones mentioned by boju. As indicated these are no longer a problem with the current drives.
Thanks for the input - waiting for a sale - Marty
