Processor. sockets and motherboards.

15 years ago I worked assembling custom computer orders, back then it was basically 1 motherboard socket for Pentiums except for Zeon.

The last 10 years I''ve switched to programming.

I currently want to get back into hardware and and create my own motherboard kit.

But now I don't know all abouts MB's sockets and processors and it's like a wild technology blizzard, and I cant tell what goes with what.

Can someone provide me of what goes with what, if there is a simple answer.

Also can anyone point me to tutorials for todays hardware. Comp-TA?

Here you go mate. Also, you can use www.pcpartpicker.com for picking parts. It has a built in compatibility filter, so for example once you pick a processor, it will only show you compatible motherboards. Hope this helps!
