Processor speed

Hello,
My desktop is sometimes run slow and stalls.
I would like to know if anybody can recommend a good processor and the amount of Gigahertz I will need to upgrade?

The current processor is a 1.65 Intel Pentium dual.

My OS is Windows 7 (32 bit) with 2 gigabytes of Ram
