I am currently on an AMD Sempron x4 3850 A.K.A. Potato @1.3 GHz. Paired with it is an XFX Radeon HD-6870 2gb graphics card. It's bottlenecking so badly to the point where I can underclock the core to 450MHz and the memory to 525MHz and still bottleneck, with the processor at full load while the underclocked card is at 20-40% load. In one of my earlier posts, I stated that a friend is most likely giving me an Intel i7-4770k. How would this setup pair with a 6870? I'm pretty confident this will be fine, but just checking :p

Oh yeah, by the way, my Valley benchmark scores on the "Extreme" preset is 609. Now, other 6870 owners have reported their Valley scores much higher, and I'm wondering if this is because of my horrible bottleneck.

^and if that doesn't work, here's the link of my results.

Solution
I don't think so. If what you said is true that the graphic card is capable of running GTA V, then I don't see any problem. Just be sure to get a new motherboard and a sufficient power supply.

EDIT: I just saw this guide

When I mean "Will This Bottleneck", I mean, will the graphics card bottleneck the i7 to the point where its worthless? Or will I still get the full amount of performance of the 6870(it's capable of gta 5) with said processor?

Most likely gonna get this motherboard:
http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Intel-6Gbps-Motherboards-GA-B85M-D3H/dp/B00D1A5OR0/ref=sr_1_8?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1442885592&sr=1-8&keywords=matx+lga+1150+motherboard
Unless the community has any other suggestions for motherboards around this price with the front-panel USB 3.0 headers. I'm also in good shape power supply wise, gonna get a 500 watt

Yes, I'm looking for a micro ATX board, so it can fit into my current micro ATX case without me having to spend more money on a new case. And the power supply I'm most likely going to get is the EVGA 500w 80+ one.

I figured, most likely at a mix of medium to high. That 2gb of VRAM will definitely help too, but I'm not too worried cuz the games I play are skyrim, call of duty, CSGO, and other assorted games.
