Productcode does not work for microsoft word

Hello,
I have a Toshiba lap top that came with microsoft office but I never set it up. Now when I type in the product code it says the code is invalid. I have checked and re typed but the invalid code error still come up.

Is it a Trial version ?? -- most laptops come with just a trial version of Office installed and you have to purchase the product to continue using it after x number of uses. So are you sure the product code is an actual full version code and not just a trial code that has expired.

If you just need a similar program get Open Office it pretty much does everything Office does and can even read and write files to the office formats but is Free to use instead of costing you $100+.
