So a while ago I purchased a laptop from Newegg and since then I've been trying to find information on several aspects of the laptop but when I look up the model number on the laptop and on the Newegg listing page I get different laptops that have at least 1 thing that doesn't match in specs that Windows is telling me, and this is after replacing the SSD and reinstalling Windows.

The laptop I have is a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14" here.

Has anyone else had this issue where they order something off a site like Newegg and gotten something wildly different or really close but no cigar?

P.S. If this is the wrong sub-forum can a mod please place in a more applicable one please?

What exact parts are wrong?
Did you buy this direct from Newegg (shipped and sold by them) or a 3rd party seller?

Your link goes to sorry we can't find this item.

From your model number.

My laptop has an R7 4700U in it. Windows and CPU-Z both confirm this. Whenever I look up the model number 14ARE05, on the bottom of the laptop itself, and the model number 81X20003US given by Newegg's spec section I get other laptops that are similar but come with one thing that is off like the CPU or the screen resolution.

I bought it off of Newegg and it claims to have been sold and shipped by Lenovo, but since the laptop seems to be discontinued with my searches I'm not sure I could get any help from Lenovo or their community.

Heck, I asked last year about keeping the backlight on the keyboard being on indefinitely while it was plugged into the wall and no one had an answer, and the only answer I did end up finding was something shady about downloading some files...

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem of getting a product and finding almost noting about it anywhere, including the manufacturers website, or getting something and looking for information only to find things that are almost the same with one or a few things different. I'm not dismissing the fact that there are multiple models that will of course have something different, but it just seems weird that I have two different model numbers to search for and neither of them are the exact thing that I am actually typing this response on. I mean, am I wrong that a model number is supposed to be for an exact item and that the one that is physically on the item has shown me something different?

Oh, and the page for the laptop doesn't mention anything about a refurbish nor used.

The link I posted has a PDF file for the model number.
For Newegg from what you said they had actually nothing to do with the product since it was not sold or shipped by them just a 3rd party seller.

There can be many local and custom ordered variations for systems. For example some Lenovo T models come with two batteries, but corporate orders can get them with only one to save money, and it's the same base part number for both of those variants.

Are the specs different on the system from the description of the system when you purchased it? If they are not, then don't worry about it, you have what you purchased. If they are different, take that up with the seller.

If you take your serial number and go to the vendor support page, they should list the configuration that system was shipped with.
