I am looking to do the SSD being a Boot Drive setup many are doing now. Windows 7 Pro is what I'll be using.

I was looking at the OCZ 60GB model, given that size I'd naturally like more storage capacity for my music and movie collection.

So what would I have to do, to properly setup the SSD and a 2TB 6.0/s SATA WD Drive in this manner? I know Raid 0 isnt an option.

Thanks!

Here is my quick run through...

1). Set your SATA controller to AHCI

2.) Updated your firmware of the SSD to the latest version

3.) If running an Intel motherboard, install the SSD on the Intel RST 10.1.0.1008... http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Chipsets&ProductLine=Chipset+Software&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Rapid+Storage+Technology+%28Intel%C2%AE+RST%29

4) Use this site to adjust your default program save location to the 2TB drive... http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/39689-program-files-directory-change-default-installs.html

5.) Here is a "tweak guide" I put together for SSD's... http://www.computing.net/howtos/show/solid-state-drive-ssd-tweaks-for-windows-7/552.html

I personally DO move my entire profile over and have never had any issues with updates. HOWEVER, I would recommend only creating a downloads folder on your secondary drive and downloading to that folder rather than the desktop or really anywhere on the primary drive. My downloads folder grows fast and with only 60Gigs to play with things can get hairy.
