I was thinking of 2x24 kits. Like this G.Skill for example: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Wm...dr5-6400-cl32-memory-f5-6400j3239f24gx2-tz5rk
At a little under $200 it's almost the price of some 2x32 kits, but it's pretty darn fast at 6400 mhz CL32.

Finding a motherboard that won't balk at that kit is the more tricky part. I have noticed that fast 24Gb sticks are more widely supported than fast 32Gb sticks, so at least there's that.

Were you thinking of doing 3x16 Gb ?
I don't think memory controllers like having to deal with more than 2 sticks. Getting an odd numebr of sticks to play nice together sound like a challenge.
DDR5 6000 CL30 is the sweet spot for AM5.

I really like the look of the Hyte 70 but I worry about GPU heat. I'm actually going with the 4090 and 4k monitor, so heat is a real thing on the GPU. Let me take a look at some of these others!

Am I too worried about heat, or am I right about the Hyte?

To give you something else to look at since looks matter to you. Excellence for cooling and all fans show the good side. 4TB of storage and a monitor suggestion. 64GB of memory is overkill but whatever.

If you would drop down to a 2K monitor you could save a bunch of money.

No clue why it says the cooler don't fit as it clearly does here and would be about the same looks.

No, heat is a consideration.

I don't know if Fractal Design Torrent is on your radar. It's pretty much all about airflow, including aiming at the GPU

Actually I just thought of something as you posted this. AMD is more finicky with multiple DIMMs isn't it? Intel IIRC has less issues with more than two than AMD

I don't know for a fact AMDs are finnicky about the number of modules. That is something motherboards complain about, regardless of chipset. Each motherboard is different in this respect, with more expensive ones being more tolerant (or capable).
I know a Ryzen CPU will be finnicky about memory speeds and it just plain won't like some modules. But i haven't heard about it being any different from an Intel when it comes to how many modules are used, and whether they're mixed or not.

Since a memory controller is integrated into the CPU, it will have some effect on how RAM slots are used. It's down to the CPU + motherboard pair.

Maybe AMD is a little more fussy but i can't confirm.
