So two weeks ago i lost my psu due to a massive surge which burnt my psu so i had to look all over for a tier one.

Finally found one which is a RM750x by corsair
So yesterday i had another surge but thanks to asus anti surge feature for shutting the pc down in time.

I took my psu out to see any damages but thankfully nothing burnt no smell except it was abit hotter than usual. It was the usual warm odor you get after running pc for all day.

Afterwards i let my psu rest for 2 hours. Plugged it back in and ran pc for 40mins and game for 20. No smell no fluctuation all well.

Now down to business. Im gonna get a servo stabilizer to save me from future shots plus i have no earth wiring so i cant use those expensive surge protectors .

Do you think a stabilizer will do?
Do check this one in the link im getting the 1500va one.

Where are you in the world?

There's a lot of things called 'surges' - some are, some aren't, and you need different things to protect against different ones. Do you know what's actually happening?

Those voltage regulators will do almost nothing against over-voltages, and if you're in a 230V country then undervoltage isn't in the least bit dangerous to your PC.

Your right, in the 230v country.

Well, I dont know how to measure what surge it was without having to monitor the rare moment but im pretty sure its deadly enough since it killed off my previous power supply straight away.

So what kind of surge would you classify that as if you can.

And bummer that stabilizer seems less likely to protect against it.
I've noticed it only came a month after the last one so it must not be very often.

What'd you advise here since i dont have a third earth wire in my house wiring which means surge protectors are useless (or so they say in forums)?

A good power supply. Cheap ones tend to cheap out on the bits to protect against overvoltage.

Alternatively, get an electrician out to either fit a surge arrestor in your switchboard, or ground your outlets. The former will be cheaper, but both probably won't be too cheap.

Did it happen during a thunderstorm, or just randomly? What did the lights do?

RM750x, what tier would you put it at.
Its supposed to be RMi 750 but without Corsair Link and a quality fan.

Lights didnt do anything unfortunately. And i dont think they'll do anything since those bulbs are energy savers and supposed to run on less electricity.

It was random, Very random.

I've noticed that the temp of my PSU is around the same when i took it out.
Maybe it was because i freaked out then.

Do you think it could be a false positive from Motherboard's anti surge feature? ;s

For the record, I use ASUS Maximus VII Ranger. 4770k 8gb ram r9 390
