I noticed the exact same thing by comparing frame time for a p1310 at stock (14 x 133MHz = 15mins) and overclocked (13 x 200MHz = 9mins).

I'll try to run my CPU @ 20 x 130MHz or 19 x 136MHz to see if the FSB alone can account for the differences we see between overclocked/stock frequencies and frame time.

It could be that F@H just respond favorably to higher frequencies.

Wusy,

Saw your first unit was like 0.04 points. I'm glad you found that funny too.

Log - Team Rank 667

Team "VelocitySTL" just couldn't keep up, they need to find some gas. Carnagie Mellon University is slowly being buried in the ranks. "Robert-Alaska" has been snowed in. UCSD isn't going to keep up with us. "Team Der Hahn" (The Rooster) doesn't have anything to crow about any more.

Just ahead of us are the "NoMoreLamers" who are limping along right now. The "Hungary" team who just don't seem hungry enough to keep up with us amd we're about to flood "Mississipi State U" under a pile of points.

-----------------------------------------------------

Yeah Team!!! I see some people have straightened out there computer problems and are startting to fold again.
I guess u can see that the team has been revitalized.

Were about to pass MISSISSIPPI STATE! Im from Mississippi, but I hate MSU. Lets kick there butts like my school"The University of Southern Mississippi" did for years until MSU decided that fitting us into their season was not possible anymore. We were consistently making them look like crap. Its funny how we can play the #4 team in the nation and actually give them a run for their money but a school in the same state thinks they are above us. GO EAGLES! and THG of course!

Now this is strange. There seems to be a small range that for some reason the program is responding to better. If I OC about 12% I get a huge increase in speed. Anything more severly slows it down.

Up to 653 now, and I just started another F@H on my main machine (see specs), which should help. I finished another WU while away on business, and have two more due for completion in the next 10 hours or so. WOO HOO!!

Looks like "HuH" is on your case. Going to pass you real soon (like today). Seriously though, looks like there could be some serious competition going to happen soon.
Well seeing as both my machines will be turned off for a week, I'm sure quite a few people will catch and pass me.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Years (And for those that don't celebrate those holidays, throw in the appropriate holidays etc...)

Try this, though I'm not sure it's not a curse- May the holiday season find you.
That goes to you, but I will say that it's not intended as a curse, but as a well wishing.

Good Day Team et. al.,

Log: Rank: 648 24Hr Avg Points: 2.8K (200K for [H]ardOCP)

Our pace continues to be good to reach under 600 for XMas. Our gift to the world, Toms, and ourselves. Please accept these holiday season treasures.

While we are being nice to the world we're not being so nice to other teams. We just trompted on an old "geezer" and snubbed our noses on "CIC_Paris". "Team Yukon" is out in the cold and "W3ST3RN 3NG" looks like it belongs in a sandwich instead of studying electrons.

Up ahead, looks like "Gryffindor" is not going to be able to generate enough magic to stop us. The steel town "Team Sudbury" is going to get slagged in a couple of hours and whoever those "Constance Collins Raiders" are they're still going to be wiped out. Further ahead, we see the (in)famous team "Intel"; want to kick some of their butt???

Just finished another WU worth 240+ points...and have another on the way in a few hours, plus a third several hours after that.

Keep em coming.... We'll hit 600 by X-Mas

Not sure exactly how the scoring works, but that WU was 400 Frames and took about 40 Minute per frame, and was running for at least a week and a half.

I have F@H currently running on 4 machines, and I may set up an old laptop as a fifth.

Wow!

You were persistent and it pays off big time. I read on the stanford site that they have some sort of benchmark they use as a standard.

Points are awarded based on the standard and how problems benchmark in relation to the standard.

Hope u know what I mean.

I think that there benchmarking has some major flaws. I think they use an old P2 as the standard. The part that seems strange to me is that some WU's produce better time/points ratios than others. The last 2 that I have gotten are 450 each, they take almost as long to complete as the 1500 WU's. They arent worth near as many points.

hm...it seems only 51% of my cpu is being used for this folding thing even when i'm not there, is there a way to up to this so it goes faster or do i just have to wait? BTW i think we're doing pretty damn good for less than 40 members, i mean the #1 team has several hundred if not thousands. So still pretty good.

If you have a hyperthreaded CPU you can run 2 consoles to max out the CPU. There are directions to do this. I think the directions are on the first/original folding post.

A mobile P4 1.4GHz with 256MB RAM, a P3-500 with 512MB SD-RAM, and a Xeon 1GHz with 256MB RAM (I think those are the specs - its the file server at work  )

It's not too tight a space, 50' by 40'. There are a few servers in there. They are adding another unit. Someone said something about $5 mil Canadian. It's a 20% upgrade.
