PS/2 mouse into USB port

Bought a USB male(?)-to-PS/2 female cable, but the laptop does not recognize the IntelliMouse 1.2A PS/2 mouse.

Is there a driver or other software to make the mouse work?

normally USB (PnP) peripherals & ps2 mouse are automaticaly detected by your pc

on laptop you are an integrated mouse tip, maybe you have something to do with ?
perhaps disabled it before

im not sure, im not already try this manip

or maybe your adaptator is not the right one

i'hav already had this kind of pb with some adaptators
like mouse com/ps2 adaptator which don't work
but they look like fit together
