PS2 slim disk not spinning, I've tried everything... Help appreciated

My PS2 slim won't spin disks. After closing the lid it says "Reading disc..." for a few seconds and then it goes away. The laser moves and I've tried holding both sensors down. I've tried flipping the PS2 and adjusting the laser. What's going on? :/

Can't remember, I bought it many years ago.

Does it have any other problems?

If it runs great except for the spindle issue, I would take it to Game Stop and see if they'll trade it for a new one... You'll probably end up paying $40-60.

It's perfectly fine, it's just the spinning problem. I'll go to a GameStop tomorrow and see what they say. What if they decline it? Would replacing the parts that could be causing the problem be cheaper?

Because the parts in the optical drive are so delicate, I recommend just replacing the PS2 rather than trying to fix it yourself.

Hm, alright. Thanks, I'll see if I can get it replaced tomorrow.
