ps3 controller not turning on

i recently opened up my dualshock 3 and serviced it myself. it seems as though i put it back together correctly but it's not turning on.
when i connect it to the console, the 4 red lights begin to blink but the ps button is unresponsive.
i just wanted to know if there was a way to find out exactly which individual buttons weren't working or whether i had not done it properly.

thanks. also i wanted to know how i can test whether each button is working or not. is there a technique to do this without connecting or turning it on.

well, i would dispute your assertion that "you put it back together correctly" as well as assert that you might not have fixed the original problem that you attempted to fix.

Your best bet is to find a qualified technician in your area and see if they can help you out or if it is cheaper to buy a replacement controller.
