PS3 Sound Issue

Hi

How do I get sound from my ps3 to my laptop? Video settings are fine. Sound used to work to my Alienware m17x r4, I had to put the HDMI audio-output settings on AAC tho. This always worked for me until I moved my PS3 once to a friend's house, after that it hasn't been turned on for 2 weeks. Now it gives no sound at all, what can I try?

might it be my audio that malfunctions? How can I make sure this is not the problem?

re do the video settings setup, you might have to retell it to output audio through the HDMI.

I already tried that twice, it does not work for me 🙁
Does it help if I tell you that I have no sound at all, not even at the main menu :/
Does that make it easier to find out what the problem is?

Could my hdmi input be damaged or something? Would be odd tho because nothing has happened to it, same for the cable, still in perfect condition. :/ please any help is appreciated

Yes, it's possible that your HDMI cable/port got damage

Have you tried using another type of cable though? like the Red Yellow White one?

Have you tried taking it back to your friends house where it was last working?
