PS3 won't recognize games

So I went to try a Blu Ray movie in my PS3 system for the first time. It started out fine, but froze after about 10 minutes in. I did try restoring file system option #3, and it did show corrupt files and repaired. System restarted, and movie started right where it left off. I ejected the movie and just to make sure, put a game in. Now it no longer even recognizes that a game has been inserted. System was working fine prior to this. How could I have messed this up by just trying a movie??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
