Ps4 controller left stick stuttering

I have a DS4 controller that i have used for about 6 months. But last week the left stick on the controller started doing something weird. When i was holding the stick straight the character in the game stoped moving and began turning every couple of seconds, even though i was holding it sthraight forward. This happens in every game. I have tried cleaning the stick from the outside with alcohol and i have even opened it and cleaned it from the inside, but nothing helped. Do you guys know a fix for this or should i just buy a new one. The warranty has ended on the controller.

You may need to open up the controller and clean off the contacts inside. Dirt/dust/sweat/etc can get in there and cause malfunctions.

I have already opened the controller up and cleaned it, there was almost no dust

My PS4 controller did the same thing but it took longer than 6 months to go bad. I bought a new controller. Do you play games every day? Maybe it's wore out. There are videos on the internet where they spray WD-40 into the controller stick from the outside but I wouldn't do it.

Another thing you could try is applying some electrical grease to the contact points. It's safer and lasts longer then wd-40.
