Ps4 monitor and audio

Hello I have been pc gaming for a long while and am getting a ps4 for some of the exclusives. Problem is when I built my pc I stupidly bought a dvi monitor and it has no hdmi. I was reading that this would work https://www.amazon.com/Generic-GC2080-Adapter-Plated-Connector/dp/B000FUVNX8 and I could put all audio through the controller?

Would a usb headset mic combo work nativly with the ps4 usb as well?

When I do get another monitor or tv shortly would I be better off with another monitor that is 1080p and like 24 in or a tv that is 720 p and 32 inch? I will mostly be at my desk where I have my pc for the distance.

why do you want to use the adapter for as dvi is digital?

my monitor doesnt support hdmi

which means the monitor either has no builtin speakers or if it does then uses an audio cable to the monitor audio port from the pc's audio jack. I presume the ps4 does not have dvi?
