So i'm thinking of buying a ps4 as a present for me at Christmas and currently i could only play it on my lenovo think pad laptop which has 15.6 (1920x1080 full hd) monitor, iv'e read that mostly all of the laptops don't have hdmi input and iv'e read that Play station 4 only has hdmi output so the hdmi cable is out. Ive found out that there is remote play on ps4 so u cant remotely connect ur ps4 controller to laptop and play games with laptop.
I was wandering how smooth does ps4 would run on laptop 1920x1080 resolution, and overall how does ps4 itself runs games.
And is there any diffrence if i connect my ps4 to tv ant connect tv to laptop so i could play on laptop ir its exactly the same as remote play

Solution
It's not going to be 100%(more like 80%) smooth, and you'd really only want to do it on a local WIRED internet connection.

Your laptop doesn't really have to be that strong, since it's basically just watching a video.

My internet connect is not a problem at all, its download speed is 93Mbps and upload speed is 98Mbps
I do have a tv for a start up, and my laptop specs are:
Proccesor intel i5-5200U 2.20Ghz (4cpus)
4gb ram

Well wired connection is possible for me, i can actually plug in ps4 to my other room tv to but my TV is sony bravia and i forgot the model but i know its not that good when it comes to gaming cause its only 720p and when i had ps3 on it, the games tend to lag a lot on it. (for example i went to my parents house to test it out on my father monitor that had hdmi input when i connected my ps3 to it the game ran really smooth like it was almost 60fps though even it was 30fps but the monitor was full hd 1080p 60hz) So it though maybe the laptop will run in smooth too. By the 80% smoothes you mean the fps drop?

Yeah, I don't think it will send 60FPS streaming video, and if it does, there's probably a large delay to your input.
