I was wondering if building a $500 PC would be better than the PS4. The PS4 itself has many great specs. I was wondering if this setup can beat the PS4.

So, which is better?

CPU:AMD Athlon X4 760K
MOTHERBOARD:MSI A78M-E35
GRAPHICS CARD:2GB EVGA GTX 650Ti Boost OR Radeon R7 260X
RAM:8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport
HARD DRIVE:1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue

The PC will be much better. Especially overclocking and future upgrading. There might be better setups than what you proposed there. If you are interested, I can set one up for you.

Jeez. Op only asked if he should choose a PC over a PS4 , not a fanboy war , who cares which is better it all depends if you're gonna play locally or online . If you're gonna play locally then PS4 all the way . And if you wanna play online would you pay $50 for the PS+ service but get free games every month ?

haha... there are 3 or 4 games... pff pc has exclusives too, i want to ask you, do you prefer black ops 3 or uncharted 😛... ofc black ops 3 haha....RiP ps4... also on that exclusive games i wish you can play at 31 fps 😛.

I prefer Uncharted many billions of times over Black Ops. Call of Duty was a pile of ass ever since Modern Warfare 3. Also I only mentioned a fraction of the games. I can't be bothered to list the dozens of PS4 exclusives that look better.

haha..what about ucharted 😀, it sucks since uncharted 3 came out... about 60 fps 😛.... you should put this on ur mind... low fps= better graphics...if ps4 got 60fps on somegames so it will be over 100+ on alot of 200$ GPUs.. also the games are optimized for PS4 so alot of games doesnt run on 1080P ULTRA setting like PC .. they runs sometimes at 900P... im wondering how ps4 will run batman arkham night 😛 1080P 😛 ..im not sure if its gonna be 1080P 😀

Uncharted 4 runs at 40fps, and 60fps in the cutscenes. It was locked at 30fps in the demo due to YouTube uploads at the time. Nope, PS4 is faster than you think. 99% of PS4 games are 1080p. The Uncharted PS4 collection isn't out yet genius, but it's confirmed at 1080p60fps or whatever makes you crap your pants.

haha... i own it before you knew it was released... anyways... games that have a good graphics 1% runs below 30 fps on ps4 like assassin creed and batman....anyways..you already know that the pc runs games at 4K.. ps4 will never run games above 1080P... in the future, about 2-3 years all pc games will support 4k and 4K GPUs will be cheaper... on that time the ps4 will run games at 900P im sure..oh and 30 fps 😛... please ps4 fanboys.. give up...im wondering how much FPS the ps4 will got by turning the res to 4k ??? 7-8?

Have you even thought about it ? A decent 4k gpu costs around $600 , next a monitor that displays 4k resolution , that's another $400 , now add the CPU , motherboard , ram , HD , ssd , case and power supply . That's another ~$1000 out of your pocket . And what does the PS4 cost ? $400 . Yet you still compare it to an at LEAST $2000 PC . And the PS4 STILL RUNS ALL THE GAMES ( with a few exceptions ) AT 1080P 60FPS . A PC would do the same damn thing , except it has different exclusives (half life , counter strike , garry's mod and others ) from the PS4 . That's the ONLY damn difference between a $500 PC and a $400 PS4 . You don't compare a $400 product to a $2000 one , period .

PS : Because the OP is interested in a PS4 and I'm SUPPORTING the PS4 that means I'm a Sony fan boy ? I would have done the same damn thing if it was the Xbox one just because of the price difference and the 50 games you got per year for the ps4 for free , +50 for ps3 and +50 more for PS vita . That's why I support the PS4 , because for the price it is the best

How do you know Batman runs below 30fps on PS4? Do you have it? Unity was patched, and even then its's a crap game. Actually quite a few PS4 games run above 1080p. They use supersampling. A 4K PC even in 2 years will cost $1000. A PS4 by then will cost $200 or lower. Do your research. No PS4 game that isn't developed by Ubisoft runs at 900p30fps. The Order for one is rendered at 1920x800p (do the math) and it has 4xMSAA at a stable 30fps.

You're an idiot for thinking that a $1500-2000 PC is better value than a console.

i didnt compare 1500$ pc to PS4 i just said in the future when ure upgrading ur GPU for 200$ and buying the best 4k monitor for 250$ (you can buy 5K tho) it will be overkill.... but when you spend ur money on ps4 600$ and 200$ for games ( 300-400 for the TV maybe) its will be waste for money... anyways.. the ps4 will never support games at 4k anymore... only videos and movies.. lol.. i can right now buy gtx 970 and play gta v at 4k ultra res 30-40fps and still better fps than ps4 so please shut up..

But can you play the many award winning games on PS4? Didn't think so. You literally just did compare a $1500-2000 PC to PS4. The best 1080p monitors aren't even $250. There's a long, long way away before 4K is that cheap. Who said PS4 will never support 4K for games? Lol, you're just trying to find value in your purchase. a GTX 970 alone costs just as much, if not more, than a PS4 not to mention releasing over a year later.
