Hello! i am planning on a GPU and PSU upgrade,
I've settled on 3070, so thought i'll get a good 700 watt psu, but when i looked at the GPUs i got a question regarding PSU.

i noticed that all the 3070s at the TRUSTED stores at me are OC versions
MSI Geforce RTX 3070 Ventus 2X OC 8GB, Zotac Gaming Geforce RTX 3070 Twin Edge OC 8GB , Asus Dual Geforce RTX 3070 OC Edition 8GB and some others

and now im wondering do OC gpus consume more power than non-oc GPUs? if so please tell me should i get 50 watt more or 700 is more than enough?

I was planning on this psu at first

Zalman ZM700-EBTII 700 Watt 80 Plus Gold Full Modular

But after noticing OC i thought of this one.

Zalman Teramax 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold Full Modular

i'm kinda tight on money, but not saying that im not willing to invest into a safe and good psu, these are okayish price to me and more than that are just too expensive and i cannot afford, so expensive that they're price of another GPU.

i know what you're gonna say: "dont buy CHiEneEEseEE psu, go buy PREFERRRRABLY AMERICAN brand PREFERRRRRRABLY CORSAIR so it's PRRRREEFFFERRABLYYYY THE MOST EXXXPENSIIIVEEEE or BE QUIET AND PRRRREEFFFFERRRRRABLYYY WITH RGB LIGHTING!!"
Please just don't say that, i don't have brands like that in my country and even if there are, they're the price of pre built i9 and 40 series gpu pc.

The rest of my build is
storage: x1 nvme 250 gb and 1TB HDD
cpu: i5 10400f
gpu: 1060 3gb (planning to get rid of)
ram: 16 gb ram ddr4
and my current psu: 500 WATT (DN500)

AAND I KNOW THAT there might be a bottleneck but i'll be fine, i just wanna upgrade my old ass gpu pc and psu 🐱‍🏍🐱‍🏍

Also which GPU do you suggest from the 3 i listed?

so thoughts? and thanks in advance!

If you're in Georgia, PCRoom has a better Be Quiet 700W Gold-rated for 5 lari more than the first Zalman and cheaper than the second, and I'd be far more comfortable with it. Zalman has a long-time reputation for making PSUs that just meet different 80 Plus thresholds and then cheaping out as much as possible on everything else that's not related to efficiency.

Fairly minor bottleneck. No reason you can't keep an eye out for a used i7-11700 and get yourself a 2x16GB memory kit while the prices are still low for DDR4.

700W is plenty for a sub-300W GPU.

You would have to know what power rating is specified for each GPU to be certain. But overclocked cards these days generally don't use too much more than their non-OC counterparts. If anything they might have the same TDP, just that the OC cards are better binned and got loaded with a BIOS that has slightly faster clocks.

The real differences come down to the coolers. Which is the largest will likely provide the highest boost clocks. (Though every GPU is a little unique in that regard)

This is where you state what your budget is, where you're located and what your preferred site for purchase is. You should also aim higher with a 750W~850W unit so you have headroom.

But isn't modular PSU better?

No, non-exploding PSU is better.
