Hi All,

I'm currently planning a GPU upgrade to a GTX 970 and have came to the realisation that I'm likely going to have to upgrade my PSU too. After the GPU upgrade my system will be the following:

MSI Mpower z87
Intel i7- 4770k
GTX 970
16GB ram (2 x 8GB)
Antec TruePower New Series 650W (roughly 5 years old)
A few LEDs in there (not sure if this is needed but thought it best to include just in case!)

I'll likely be doing a little overclocking but mainly I just want a PSU that will provide the power/ connections required and leave some headroom to go a while before another upgrade is needed. My budget is around the £100 mark and I'll be looking to purchase by the end of April.

Thanks in advance for any responses!

James

I do agree with the G2 considering OP is adding SLI in the future.

The Pro series from XFX, and indeed the specific unit you linked, is from 2010. It is still a great product, made out of Seasonic's amazing topology. However, we can suggest newer PSU's for the same price and with superior quality.

Even though XFX exclusively produces Seasonic models, and thus keeping the quality level extremely high, this topology is over 5 years old, so newer models are advised.

I can recommend the XTR or TS. Same price range, newer technology (both form 2013-2014)

For your setup I reccomend 550W-620W. That will leave room for overclocking as well. If you want to add SLI, then 650W-750W is adviceable.
