Hello. I need some advice as to which PSU I should use for GTX 1080 SLI.

PSU:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009

- Corsair 850 watt. It's a couple years old so I'm not sure if it's still good or supported by higher end Video cards

- EVGA 750 W b2.

Out of the two power supplies which one do you recommend? Do I need to buy a new PSU to support SLI 1080. I may do slight overclocking to the GPU.

PC Specs:
CPU: core i5 6600k overclocked to 4.6 GHZ 1.3v
Mobo: SUS Z170-A ATX DDR4 Motherboards
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX GV-N1080G1 GAMING-8GD in SLI
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) DIMM 288-Pin Memory

Thanks

1000w is a waste of money. 850, even 750 is fine. Cards and processors are getting more efficient not less, so getting a 1000w PSU is doing nothing to future proof you other than wasting money you could use in the future.

The B2 is an excellent Superflower made PSU. Superflower and Seasonic are the two tops (with Seasonic just edging them out right now).

The one you suggested is a good deal and an excellent PSU (I have the 450w version) but don't discount the 750B2, although in the link the OP posted the price is a bit high for it, I've seen it cheaper.

don't buy corsair and don't buy 750w your'e gonna want 1000w to have a really clean system the evga g2 1000w gold psu is excellent with 10 year warranty i have tried corsair before and all my experiences with them have sucked. the evga 750 watt one you have will be cutting it too close for comfort you should go at least over 850watts minimum.

it's like putting a 700 amps cold crank battery in a ferrari that needs 1000 amps cold crank battery it will do it but will stress the car and cause electrical problems. Same with a psu for a pc don't go with minimum 750 watt recommended or even 100 watts within range go over for headroom and steady operation you won't regret it and it's not much money for that psu on when it's on sale or not.

that's the evga i have and beleive me it's awesome!! i have same setup as you have with 1080 gtx sli except a modern skylake setup. If i were you id get a new mobo and cpu first because your gonna be bottlenecked big time. The best gpu for you would be an rx 470 8gb/480 8gb or gtx 1050 ti/gtx 1060 6 gb. and that's even really pushing it. my son has a core 2 quad q 6700 @2.93 ghz with 8 gb ram and radeon 470 and your cpu isn't a ton better than that and his rx 470 is bottlenecked. it sounds like you might have your i7 860 overclocked with that cooler it might help slightly but not enough to handle 2 gtx 1080 let alone one.

that's my psu and it's great

Actually the computer I have in my signature is not updated. My PC specs

CPU : core i5 6600k overclocked to 4.6 GHZ 1.3v
Mobo: SUS Z170-A ATX DDR4 Motherboards
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX GV-N1080G1 GAMING-8GD in SLI
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) DIMM 288-Pin Memory

Thanks for the info I'm going to get the 1000 watt PSU. Keeps it future proof as well.
