PSU Cable Making Question

I want to sleeve my power supply cables for my EVGA 1300 G2, but this PSU uses 8 pin from the PSu to 6+2 pin connectors to the GPU. The 6 pin also has a capacitor between 2 of the cables. Can I just cut the end off and put an 8 pin on it and plug it into the PSU so the capacitors are hidden away or does the location of the capacitor matter?

I see they have sleeved sets, but from what I can see there are no capacitors on their cables and also I want to do some custom colors they do not offer. Are the capacitors just hidden in the pictures? The question still stands though, could I put an 8 pin in place of the 6+2 and plug it in to the psu and use the other end in the gpu.
