[SOLVED] PSU Cabling

I'm upgrading my PSU and noticed that the SDD has a cable going to it from the old PSU that splits off and goes to a control box pictured in the middle of the board. Is this norma for the cablel or will i need to order a special cable when my new PSU arrived?
My old PSU is not modular my new one is though.

That looks like just a regular SATA power cable. They will have 3 or 4 coming off one cable.

So yes normal.

thanks, so for that control box can i have a single sata cable going directly from PSU to it, it doesn't need to be join to SSD Sata?

The cable coming off the power supply will have more than one connector for SATA power.

You don't need to buy this but the cable will look something like this, see how their like 4 of the plugs on one cable.

EDIT it will probably be joining the SSD just like it is now, you still need to power everything the the old power supply is powering. The cable is made like that so you can power several different things with just one cable.

Great thank you. It was a pre-built PC I've slowly been upgrading in prep for the 3070 next month..if I can get one...
