PSU connectors for R9 390

Can you use a splitter 6 pin and 6 +2 pin to 8 pin cable to power the R9 390? This cable came with the power supply I got (Corsair CX600m).

The corsair 600 is lighter than ideal for a 390 which has a recommended minimum 650 watts .

A 6 + 2 is the same as an 8 pin

My question is more regarding whether you can use a splitter cable that was supplied with the PSU or if i need to get two separate cables?

Will the Corsair 600 be ok? I was recommended it.
