[SOLVED] PSU died while booted. Mobo fried?

TL;DR- PSU went while pc was on. After replacing, all fans spin but no display from GPU or board(no bios even). Thinking it's a dead mobo.
Preface: Hey guys just need a little bit of input. I have advanced experience and knowledge in pc building. However, I put a new PSU and a 1060 in an HP i7-6700 desktop. PSU came from my last computer.
Problem: I saw signs that my PSU was going out but I anticipated to be able to wait until black friday. Thanksgiving after dinner, it went while the computer was on. Furious, but I went and got a new one. After putting it in all fans spin, no HP beeps or blinks but no display. Check mobo video out but nothing there either. I hear these HP boards are weaker than anything. Is that what we're think? Thanks!

Try removing the motherboard battery for a few minutes and then try to fire it up in to bios.

Try removing the motherboard battery for a few minutes and then try to fire it up in to bios.

In my fit last night I definitely over looked CMOS. Easy enough, doing it now.

Cleared CMOS, removed GPU, got it into safe mode.
