It's time for me to upgrade my XP2100+.

I was thinking of the XP2500+ 333Mhz FSB, 512Kb Cache.
(I am not looking to empty the bank on this one.)

Someone told me that I would need at least a 425 watt PSU?
I do have a reasonably powerful system and a number of external devices.

The PSU I have is 400 Watt (quite a cheap one though)

Is this sufficient or do I have to buy a new PSU in which case I will not bother all together?

Look like you might need an additional 6.8 Watts at Max Usage. If your rig, which I can't find, is that close to the edge of ur power supply needs then u'll need to get one but I doubt it.

The way people tell if their PSU's are underpowered:

Stick in a CD. If your CPU fan slows down considerably then you need a bigger better PSU. Look in the "Other" category where they tend to talk about PSU's.
