Hi
Im upgrading my OLD PC with new GPU.
9800GT or I can get 8800gts 320 for less money.
It will be nice upgrade from my 7100GS.
Is my PSU capabe of running one of this GPUs. Here it is.
Is it 275 or 450W PSU?
Also which card is best from this GPUs for my CPU. Its pentium 631 HT.
8800GTS costs less.
Thanks

according to the black dot its a 450w with 21amps on the 12v rail-- and that's about it its not like were talking about a name brand aftermarket psu so theres no telling what its out come will be

if its a card like this one it will need a 6-pin pci-e power lead from the psu as stated in its specs. of the card

if the card is like this one it will require 26 amps from the 12v rail and your psu states 21a so look at its specs, for required psu

this is the kind of home work you willneed to do your self and learn what works with what and what may cause you to fall short

good luck

Yes I do a lot search for PC parts and their compatibility but what i wanted to know was if this CPU will bottleneck this GPUs. My PSU tells me that it has 450W and its not good for this GPUs and i can change it but i dont know about CPU. Will it bottleneck 9800GT?
Thats why im asking here.
Thanks

Solution

OK
Thanks
Maybe ill use this 9800 in new system with good PSU and new CPU
Its still good GPU with new CPU for mid-settings in games

all you can do is what you can- live and learn you need to look over the specs of the cards your able to get ther not all the same and the one you can get may not need the same requirements as the ones I posted in the links I gave you and may just slap right in and work fine ??

but all that's up to you to find and research

Yes, I know
