Hello,

I was searching some stuff for Sapphire Amd Vega 64 and i saw that they recommend 750w PSU but when i checked CoolerMaster Power Supply Calculator, (with everything) a 550w PSU is enough and what was i going to buy (a Corsair RM550x 80+ Gold).

My question is, is the recommendation of Sapphire right or can I go with a 550w as CoolerMaster's PSU calculator says?

Solution
Yeah, I would say a 650W would be min recommended to be safe.

MSI Afterburner shows my Vega 64 Liquid pulling north of 300 watts ( 345 max The pump and fan are included here).
The normal Vega 64 pulls 300 ish at max. ( Liquid bios has a little more headroom.
Personally I would want at least a 650, for headroom.
OC'd cpus can and will pull more than their TDP rating. so it depends on whether you want to be able to carry that psu forward in to future builds.
The 750 would leave a good amount of leeway without being overkill.

The minimum PSU wattage recommended by the graphics card manufacturer is almost always higher than is really necessary for most people because they prefer to leave a generous margin of overhead to cover builds which may be fully loaded with several other power-hungry components - - they just don't know what kind of system each buyer has.

So, to be more specific, i was thinking about going for Ryzen 5 1600 and Vega 64 (air one) without overclocking anything, even like this a 650w one is the preferable one? If so, any recommendation for psu?

New Egg recommends a 1000watt PSU for some of the Vega 64 Liquid's. Is that just overkill or, would my Seasonic 760watt be enough? Here are my pc specs for reference.

CabelMod UV/RGB LED strips (2)
Seasonic 760 Watt Platinum
Asus PRO GAMER Z97
