PSU for Graphics card

hello guys,
i've bought a new psu EVGA Supernova HEX 650W and a Asus Rog Strix GTX1070.
the problem is i have a really old case, and it doesn't have any space for this PSU. I want to ask can i use my EVGA PSU just for GTX1070 ? like having 2 PSUs one is already installed for all the components and a new one just for my GPU.

no, because there would be no way to turn the other one on if its just connected to the graphics card. you would be better off just picking up a cheap modern case

You might be able to however it would be a better idea to take out the old PSU and use the EVGA outside of the case on a hard surface (no carpet) like a table to power everything until you can get a better case or just return the EVGA and find a model that will fit in your current case.

Also that model is ok but the better quality units from EVGA are the B2,G2,GS,P2,PS & T2 models.

how about Corsair Carbide Series 88R or Corsair Spec 03 cases ?
